Bowen Therapy is a gentle yet powerful form of holistic physical therapy that employs a series of precise rolling moves over specific areas of the body. This technique sends signals to the nervous system, prompting your body to activate its natural healing response. Originating from the work of Tom Bowen in Australia during the 1950s, this therapy has gained recognition for its ability to reset myofascial tension and facilitate healing on both structural and energetic levels.
Physical and emotional trauma is often stored in the nervous system. When unresolved, this trauma can resurface, triggering reactions that lead to stress, anxiety, inflammation, illness, and depression. Bowen Therapy addresses this by using gentle myofascial moves that send powerful impulses to the brain, stimulating the autonomic nervous system (ANS). This process helps shift the body from a “fight or flight” state into “rest and relax,” allowing healing energy to flow to areas that need it most.
A unique feature of Bowen Therapy is the intentional two-minute pause between sets of moves. This wait allows the body to begin realigning and releasing stored tension, enhancing the healing process. Many clients report immediate relief after just one session, while others may benefit from a series of 3 to 5 sessions to fully experience the profound effects of Bowen. This approach not only promotes relaxation but also addresses the root causes of discomfort, helping to maintain alignment and overall well-being.

Being an athlete requires a lot of time and effort, along with physical and mental strength. The repetitive swinging, twisting, pounding, lifting and bending of the body can cause a substantial amount of pain and stress which can lead to chronic overuse injuries.
Bowen can improve mobility, coordination, flexibility, restore musculoskeletal balance and decrease pain; which will in turn improve your performance and reduce the risk of injury. When your body is balanced, mind is free and energy is flowing, you become more focused and in tune with your body, which will also help improve your performance and overall wellbeing. Many clients will feel instant relief after just one Bowen session and others may need a few regular Bowen sessions to help heal the root cause and keep the body aligned.
Use Bowen pre competition/ workout to get your body aligned and charged up. Receive Bowen post competition for recovery to calm the whole body and mind. For acute injuries, it is important to be seen as soon as possible for assessment and treatment, preferably before sleep. This will help decrease the inflammatory response from the injury and allow the body to begin the healing process.

It is resetting the nervous system and sending healing energy directory to the reproductive organs. It is also important to work with the partner to help enhance male sperm production. If your goal is to nurture a new life, it is important to show love, cultivation and nurture yourself long term to help the soul living inside of you grow happy and healthy for the first 9 months.
There is a specific fertility protocol that helps realign the pelvic area and balance the endocrine system (hormonal system) to enhance fertility. The procedures are performed once a week for 8 weeks. It will start by focusing on regular menstruation and ovulation, then continue regularly to achieve conception.
Once pregnant, Bowen is still very useful for keeping the body, specifically the pelvis, aligned and flowing. It will help relax and relieve tensions as the body shifts and moves. The Sacral Procedure is amazing when it comes to helping with low back pain and pelvic instability that can arise during pregnancy. There are also many other procedures that can help with pregnancy problems such as morning sickness, sore feet, headaches and general stiffness.
Bowen can even be used for postpartum to help the mothers body recover and return back to “normal” flow. It can also help with lactation problems or mastitis that occur. Bowen can even be used on babies to help them recover from any birthing traumas, address any difficulties with feeding, decrease symptoms of colic, reflux, indigestion, constipation and simply help the baby settle into its new existence outside of the womb. It is unlocking the baby’s ability to heal itself and reboot their whole being.

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a hit to the head or body. The brain bounces off the skull resulting in damaged brain cells. People with concussions suffer from symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, dizziness, headaches, trouble concentrating, feeling more emotional, sensitivity to light or noise, etc. Many fully recover from concussions, while others suffer from chronic physical, cognitive and psychological symptoms.
With Bowens ability to rebalance the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), it is initiating the bodies natural healing properties sending healing energy straight to the head. The ANS controls 80% of the body and when shifting to rest and relax the body is able to heal itself.
Bowen rebalances the body as a whole which is so important in the recovery of a concussion because the body may begin to take on more compensating problems, along with the injury already present from the event, such as whiplash. Bowen helps speed up the healing process by increasing blood, nerve and lymph flow to the brain.
The Bowen TMJ procedure is major when it comes to concussion recovery because it shifts and rebalances the Temporomandibular Joint. This helps increase blood flow to the brain and reset the bodies balance system. It is working with the Trigeminal nerve which controls most of the blood flow to the brain. Lastly, the TMJ procedure can also help with any vision problems that have resulted from the concussion.

Do you experience the tingling, aching and/or burning sensations of sciatica? Have you tried everything to get rid of the pain but nothing has helped? It is very common for people who suffer from sciatica to be caught up in a cycle of frustration from waking up everyday with the same discomfort and constantly using anti-inflammatory medications to mask the pain.
Sciatica is when the sciatic nerve is pinched or irritated. It sends a sharp radiating pain down the line of the nerve form the lumbar spine, running through the buttock area and down the hamstrings to the calves. Pain can vary from aching or burning sensations to shooting pain, tingling, numbness or muscle weakness in the affected leg due to the compression of the nerve. Pain is usually worse when sitting for long periods of time and the pain can make it difficult to do daily activities such as walking.
Bowen therapy has been proven to be a highly effective form of physical therapy for treating people with sciatica. Bowen works by relaxing and resetting the nervous system which then releases tension from the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This helps free the pinched sciatic nerve and help the muscles that have been stressed surrounding it. Bowen helps realign the whole body which is important when treating sciatica because it can address issues originating from the lumbar/pelvic region like low back pain, hip flexor pain, and even shoulder pain can be associated with sciatica.
